The conditions most prevalent Chesapeakes are Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). The OFA Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) testing requirements for the Chesapeake are hip x-rays for Hip Dysplasia (OFA, or PennHIP), elbow x-rays for Elbow Dysplasia, OFA Eye Evaluation by a boarded ACVO Ophthalmologist, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) DNA Test, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM).
